Today Rep. Jon Hardister (R-Guilford) and State Senate Candidate Sebastian King (R-Guilford) attended a seminar hosted by the White House in Charlotte, NC. The seminar was focused on the federal Opportunity Zone program that is being promoted by the Trump Administration.
The White House has labeled the program “Opportunity Now.” The program allows tax breaks for companies that invest in zip codes that are designated as low-income.
President Donald Trump attended the seminar and spoke about the importance of investing in low-income communities, creating jobs and promoting upward mobility. This program will benefit thousands of families across North Carolina, including in Guilford County.
“It was an honor to attend this seminar and learn about the Opportunity Now program,” Hardister said. “President Trump and Republican lawmakers are showing true leadership in expanding access to the American Dream. We are focused on expanding upward mobility for all of our citizen in North Carolina.”
“It was great to be a part of this seminar and listen to ideas on how to expand access to opportunity,” King added. “As the first in my family to graduate college, I was especially moved by Dr. Ben Carson’s story. We both share a passion for helping our communities find success. I will continue to advocate for areas in High Point and Greensboro to have access to the American Dream. Opportunity Zones are a step in the right direction.”
President Donald Trump invites business owners to the stage, who discussed how the program help them achieve success.
