CHARLESTON, S.C., Feb. 17, 2020 – Homegrown Hospitality Group today announces the closing of its Liberty Brewery and Grill location in High Point, North Carolina. After 20-years at its Oak Hollow Mall location, Liberty Brewery and Grill will cease operations at the close of business Sun., Feb. 23.

“We are incredibly thankful for more than 20 amazing years here in High Point,” stated Mark Cumins, co-owner of Homegrown Hospitality Group. “From the ice storm beginning through the tough decision to close, we have had the opportunity to make great friends and lifelong relationships. Making this business decision was not easy and we truly appreciate the hard work from our staff and the loyalty of our guests. While we are closing our doors at Liberty, we are also celebrating all the great times and memories over the many years.”

Liberty Brewery & Grill in High Point first opened on January 11, 2000. “When the opportunity arose to purchase the building for Liberty, Mark and I could sense that there was something undeniably special about this city,” expressed Jerry Scheer, co-owner of Homegrown Hospitality Group. “Being a member of this community for the last 20-years has been remarkable and we are grateful for the support we have received.”

The restaurant group is reviewing options for the building, which could include rebranding the location with another concept, leasing the building to a viable tenant or sell out-rite.

Homegrown Hospitality Group will continue to operate its four Liberty Tap Room locations in Greenville, Myrtle Beach, Columbia, and Irmo, South Carolina. The South Carolina-based restaurant group also owns and operates TBonz Gill & Grill, Flying Fish Public Market & Grill, Taco Mundo Kitchen Y Cantina, Rioz Brazilian Steakhouse, Pearlz Oyster Bar, Kaminsky’s Dessert Café and TBonz Steakhouse throughout the tri-state area of Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina.
