Greatness is not what you have – it’s what you give!

Greensboro, N.C.– Givesboro is a fundraising campaign that encourages individuals to lift up their community by giving back to those in need. Small Businesses of Downtown Greensboro are coming together to raise money for the local non-profit, Interactive Resource Center (IRC). The initiative is “Communities coming together, giving back in Greensboro.”  There are over 40 downtown businesses participating and it is expected to grow with additional businesses joining the fundraising participation in the next few weeks. All proceeds collected from the campaign will directly benefit the Interactive Resource Center, a non-profit organization that assists neighbors experiencing homelessness and poverty reconnect with their own lives and with the community at large. Givesboro will run from Nov. 15 – Dec. 31. The campaign will align with the #BuyLocalSeason, sponsored by Triad Local First. Participating retailers* include 

1618 Downtown, Antlers and Astronauts , Artisans’ Treehouse, Aspen Boutique, B. Christopher, Bearded Goat, Biltmore Hotel, Blue Denim, Boho Salon, Chez Genese, Crafted – art of taco, Crafted – street food, Crooked Tail, Deep Roots, Downtown Bicycle Works, Just Be, Lao, Little Brothers Brew, On Point barbershop, Realigned, Rock’s Hair Shop, Smith Street Diner, Sonders Mind and Body, Tailor’s Rack, Undercurrent, Vintage to Vogue Boutique, Viva pour tea, Vivid, White and Wood and more to be announced.

*Please note that the list of participants is growing.

This holiday season, there are several ways that you can give back:

○      By purchasing a discount card for $10 that can be presented at participating retailers, restaurants, and businesses throughout the Downtown area.

○      By donating your loose change in the tins you see at the registers of participating retailers, restaurants, and businesses throughout the Downtown area.

○      Businesses Thinking outside-the-box and creating their own fundraisers such as “rounding up”, a percentage of sales will go towards the fundraiser, etc.
