When Darrell Harris founded Furnitureland South in 1969, his goal was not to build the world’s largest furniture store. His goal was to provide for his young family and help people furnish their homes with quality furniture and exceptional service. Of his professional accomplishments, Darrell derived the greatest satisfaction from the friendships developed and the opportunities provided throughout his time. The 2018 Fourth Annual ADH Memorial Golf Tournament honors his integrity, loyalty and dedication as an industry leader in the furniture capital of the world while raising $70,000 for an extraordinary organization.

“It’s an honor to continue to support the American Heart Association in such a fun way,” Jeff Harris, President and CEO of Furnitureland South, said. “The work they do to educate our employees and community about heart disease is priceless. We just wanted put their advice to ‘move more’ into action!”

Heart disease and stroke are the No. 1 and No. 5 killers of both men and women in the United States. Diseases of the Heart are the 2nd leading causes of death and stroke is the 5th leading cause of death in Guilford County. However, 80% of heart disease and stroke-related illnesses are preventable with managed risk factors and heart-healthy lifestyle changes.

The 2019 Guilford Heart Ball is scheduled for Sat., Feb. 9, 2019 at The Cadillac Service Garage in Downtown Greensboro. Furnitureland South is the proud City Premiere Sponsor for the Guilford Heart Ball. All the funds raised for the Heart Ball benefit heart disease and stroke research and prevention education in our community. For more information, visit the 2019 Guilford Heart Ball website.
