2020 Buddy! Cast w_Jamie Lawson, WSTA Director

These are trying times for our world, for our nation, and for our community. As the COVID-19 situation develops hourly, the changes that affect our day-to-day lives follow suit. With all of that in mind, I want to announce some changes Theatre Alliance’s upcoming scheduled events.

We are postponing “Evita.” This sweeping Andrew Lloyd Webber musical was scheduled to open Friday, March 13th. We hope to stage it in May, once the suggested assembly limitations are slated to be lifted.  Brown Paper Tickets will be issuing refunds, unless you choose to donate your ticket purchase to the theater. For tickets purchased through our box office or phone reservation line, please call (336) 723-7777. Again, please consider donating your ticket price to Theatre Alliance.

We are cancelling our “Joyride!” Season Reveal Event that was scheduled for March 23rd.  In addition, since we don’t know what the next few months hold in store for assembly permissions, we are holding off on the announcement of our new season altogether, as we may need to alter some programming. Brown Paper Tickets will be issuing refunds for this event, unless you choose to donate your ticket purchase to the theater. For tickets purchased through our box office or phone reservation line, please call (336) 723-7777. Again, please consider donating your ticket price to Theatre Alliance.

Our TBA reading for April 3 has been cancelled.

Our Mega-Auditions for April 4 are being postponed until after our “Joyride!” season has been revealed, which is delayed, as aforementioned.

“Something’s Wicked This Way Comes,” slated for April, has been cancelled.  This is our first time cancelling a mainstage show, and it was a difficult decision for us. Brown Paper Tickets will be issuing refunds, unless you choose to donate your ticket purchase to the theater. For tickets purchased through our box office or phone reservation line, please call (336) 723-7777. Again, please consider donating your ticket price to Theatre Alliance.

Our Community Yard Sale for April 25 is outside, so we are tentatively keeping it on the schedule and plan to space tables a safe distance from each other. We will keep you apprised, as we get closer.

“Urinetown,” slated for May, will be re-scheduled, once we can determine when we can perform “Evita.”  Brown Paper Tickets will be issuing refunds for this event, unless you choose to donate your ticket purchase to the theater. For tickets purchased through our box office or phone reservation line, please call (336) 723-7777. Again, please consider donating your ticket price to Theatre Alliance.

We are forging ahead on with our “Homecoming” Capital Campaign. We realize many people may be struggling financially during this difficult time, and our hearts go out to them.  However, if you are in a position to give, we would appreciate your support.  You may donate here:  https://www.theatrealliance.ws/  The sooner we acquire the finances, the sooner we can get into our new space and become a vibrant part of the downtown arts scene!  Please follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and sign up for our mailing list, which you can also do on our website!  It’s important that we can communicate with you—now, more than ever!
