Steph Stewart & the Boyfriends

Fronted by songwriter Steph Stewart and featuring veteran bluegrass musician Tim Stambaugh (formerly of the Shady Grove Band) and Omar Ruiz-Lopez on fiddle, Durham-based Steph Stewart & the Boyfriends is the perfect fusion of traditional Appalachia and top shelf Americana. Her ethereal twang feeds an audience, easing into the gut like honey, accented by hoppy banjo picking. Other songs—the more tragic, emotional ones—unleash a piercing moan that hits harder, like a cast iron pan dropped on the kitchen floor, throttling with a resounding pulse long after the music is over. Rooted in memories dancing to Johnny Cash with her grandfather as a kid in North Carolina, there is something quite unique yet satisfyingly familiar in Steph's music.

Buckcherry Biographynby Jason AnkenynThe Los Angeles-based hard rock act Buckcherry formed in mid-1995, after singer Joshua Todd and guitarist Keith Nelson were introduced through their tattoo artist. After cutting several demos, the duo recruited bassist Jonathan “J.B.” Brightman and drummer Devon Glenn and began performing live, quickly earning a local following for their swaggering, grunge-flavored music. Following the subsequent addition of second guitarist Yogi, Buckcherry signed with DreamWorks Records and issued their self-titled debut LP in 1999. Singles such as “Check Your Head” and “For the Movies” were modern rock hits, allowing Buckcherry to raise their profile by summer 2000.nThe following year, Buckcherry released their second album, Time Bomb. Although it wasn’t widely noticed by critics, AC/DC recruited the band as an opening act for a series of shows, and Buckcherry‘s audience grew accordingly. In July 2002, founding member Joshua Todd unexpectedly quit the group, and Buckcherry took a multi-year hiatus to recoup. They eventually regrouped in 2005 with original members Todd and Nelson, as well as newcomers Xavier Muriel (drums), bassist Jimmy Ashhurst, and guitarist Stevie D. The revised lineup hit the studio later that year to record 15, which was released in early 2006 and yielded the band’s first Top Ten pop single, “Sorry.” 15 went platinum on the strength of its crossover appeal, and Buckcherry quickly returned in 2008 with a fourth album, Black Butterfly. The concert album Live & Loud 2009 was released the following year, as the band prepared to hit the road as KISS‘ opening act. in 2010, the band released its fifth, full-length album, All Night Long.

Come out to Ziggy's this May 20th and come together as a community for a great cause. Addison Riley Hannah's family is organizing a benefit in her honor to help with getting her a new wheelchair. Her benefit will be held at the Tavern at Ziggy's. A portion of the proceeds raised will be put back into Addison's school to help other children grow and blossom the way they have helped her do. Her experience there has changed her future as an adult and I believe that 100%. We hope that everyone will come out for a great time and awesome bands, all of which have donated their time to this cause.

John Wilkes Boothe And The Black Toothe are a high-energy Indie-Americana trio from Asheville NC. This is their first time playing in Greensboro, a town which they hope to infect with their quirky brand of folk-absurdism.
