Enter the mysterious lair of the sorcerer Alcandre where Pridamant seeks to learn what has become of the son he banished years ago. In the deepening darkness, the magician conjures three separate moments from the young man’s life; each finds him in a different location and with a different name. As the mysterious scenes progress, passions ignite, allegiances shift and the unhoped-for comes to pass until Pridamant discovers the unexpected truth about his son. Some of the Triad’s most talented young performers will star in the production which will take place at the Southwest School Auditorium located at 1631 Southwest School Road in Clemmons, NC. Come see “Beauty Lou and the Country Beast” starring local children who have participated in Missoula Children’s Theatre. Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) has been touring extensively for 35 years from Montana to Japan, and will visit more than 1,200 communities this year with 45 teams of Tour Actors/Directors. An MCT tour team arrives in a given town with a set, lights, costumes, props and make-up, everything it takes to put on a play … except the cast. Children ages 5-18 will learn auditioning and drama skills for an adaptation of the favorite children’s story “Beauty Lou and the Country Beast” during this week-long drama camp (July 9-13) led by MCT professionals, culminating in one public performance.

Born in Siam in 1811, the twins later settled in Mount Airy and married sisters Sarah and Adelaide Yates of Wilkes County. They fathered eleven and ten children, respectively, and died in Mount Airy in 1874. “The Wedding of the Siamese Twins” follows the lives of Eng and Chang Bunker, their romance with Sarah and Adelaide, and the relationship between the twins. Having earned a large fortune through their world tours, Eng and Chang decided to settle in North Carolina where they courted and married the sisters.
