Word from a friend in New Orleans who lives in the lovely old Garden District: She says each day another celeb moves in, and it's fun to look out of her window and see Sandra.

HOLLYWOOD...Now that the bunny has hopped through Hollywood, and the ladies have paraded their loveliest – dresses, hairdos, jewelry, etc. – and most of the award shows are over, the summer season is on. The tourists are running about looking for stars, and it's the same old every year.

HOLLYWOOD... Thankfully, the awards season is on the wane. Everyone is getting more than a bit sated over the "same old, same old." However, with the summer season almost upon us, production is slowing down and news is harder to find (except, of course, when Paris, Lindsay and Britney.

HOLLYWOOD...Selleck fans are happy to learn that "Tall Tom" is about to make a deal to star in an untitled drama pilot. By the time you read this it should be a "done deal." We don't know too much about it for now. His last outing in Las Vegas was a flop. More on this as we find out.

HOLLYWOOD...Makes me happy – the crowds pouring in to see Alice In Wonderland. When I was young, I read and reread the book until the pages were all shredded. So, it's good to see that this generation of young moviegoers isn't totally computer-oriented. Again, it's great to know there is a wonderment!.

HOLLYWOOD...The town is still talking about Oscar. The Academy Awards have turned into more of a fashion show and partying event than a serious celebration of the best works in the business. It has come to be a Red Carpet event, with "What are you wearing?" instead of "Whom and what do you think will win?" And, where were Julia.

HOLLYWOOD... Mickey Rourke is set to play a famous barbarian's father in the feature film Conan, the fantasy franchise that made Arnold Schwarzenegger a star.

HOLLYWOOD... When I was in my teens, the wish of every young girl was to own a mink coat or jacket. Everyone saved and saved to have one. Today, no one I know of will wear fur. Those who own them are turning them into throw pillows and etc.

Already many beauty parlors and make-up places are booked for Oscar week, and you can bet your booty there will be lots of long, straight blond hair parted in the middle and hanging down over bare shoulders. And already, everyone is singing, Rain, Rain, Go Away.

From now on until the big night, its all Oscar talk. I just wish organizers could find a way to end all those interminable thank yous to mom, dad, grandpa, Aunt Tillie, etc. And I wish something would happen, like the time a naked man ran out of the wings and streaked across the stage.

It doesn't happen until March. The Oscar Show. But already many of the "girls" have made their beauty and hairdressing appointments. And you can bet your last buck - come rain or come shine - there will more bared shoulders than you can count. Also, Hollywood is learning to cope with "raindrops falling on their shoulders."

HOLLYWOOD...Still a mystery how all those lovely ladies in little-nothing dresses and no wraps didnt get pneumonia walking the Golden Globes red carpet in the cold. Also, those who will admit, do admit that the show was a bit long and more than a bit boring.

Honestly! And I know I'm being redundant. BUT those "little black nothing" dresses are looking more and more like bathing suits. On every show, at every party, everywhere. Hopefully the fashion will change soon. It would be nice to see some red and blue and even green for a change!.

On the map, Palm Springs is a little spot in the California desert. However, it's one of the richest communities in the state, housing many celebs and lots of the very, very rich. AND when it held its film festival, it was indeed a GALA! Celebrated this year were Morgan Freeman.
