Is Ron Hornaday Jr. the greatest driver in the history of what is now the Camping World Truck Series? According to a wide range of observers, there isn't much doubt. LONG POND, Pa. - Martin Truex Jr. is faced with a balancing act. He wants to make the best of his remaining time at Earnhardt Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates, even as he prepares for a new ride in 2010. Truex, 29, won a race in Dover, Del., in June 2007 and made the Chase for the Sprint Cup that same year.

SPEEDWAY, Ind. - Veteran driver wound up finishing 26th Bill Elliott, the 1988 champion of what is now known as the Sprint Cup Series, in the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard, but not before he turned heads with a fourth-place qualifying effort. Elliott, 53, now competes only part time for what was once one of NASCAR's premier teams, the Wood Brothers.

Kyle Busch's Nationwide Series victory at Gateway International Raceway was his sixth of the season. Three times he has won at the Sprint Cup level. Bowyer's got to keep up - or else

Clint Bowyer finished 29 th in the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway. He can't afford another misstep in the eight races leading up to NASCAR's Chase for the Sprint Cup. After the first six races of the season, Bowyer ranked second in points. Now he's 16th and has eight weeks to work his way into the top 12 and make the Chase.

The time is now for Earnhardt Jr.

Nine races may seem like an eternity for some, but time is growing short if Dale Earnhardt Jr., the most popular driver in NASCAR, is to make the Chase for the Sprint Cup.
