This week's Page Three model, Michelle Somers, bears no relation to our favorite blonde bombshell Suzanne Somers, but we are fans of hers anyway. The Burlington native does possess a nifty practical streak - after completing her associates degree in art at GTCC she originally planned to enroll in UNCG's nursing program, but instead she decided to live in the real world.

This week's Page Three model, Katie Schmidt, has a lot of balls in the air. She's a rising junior at UNCG, studying anthropology. And she waits tables at the Out West Steakhouse in Kernersville, where she grew up.

Sky Bradshaw came to Greensboro one year ago by way of Philadelphia, Pa. and Mebane. "My spiritual base was here and my friends were here, so I thought it was better to live here than driving all the time."

We met 38-year-old Barry Williams years ago, when he was still cutting hair in Kernersville and working the door at Greene Street after he organized a power-lifting demonstration for the Special Olympics. "We raised about $1,300," he says, "and the local Special Olympics golf team got to go to some kind of tournament with the money."

Congratulate this week's Page Three model, Meredith Fryar: She's about to graduate from high school. The member of East Davidson's Class of '08 wil matriculate on June 14, and she plans to begin the dental hygiene program at GTCC in the fall.

Jessica Wyrick is a women with a plan. The 23-year-old Greensboro lifer has always known she wanted to help people. "I wanted to be a pediatric doctor," she said. "But it would have taken too long."

Get a good look at this week's Page Three offering, because for the first time in our history we bring a triple-shot of goodness to the space.

Our representatives on the Hooter's beat... um... uncovered this week's Page Three model at a swimsuit competition at the High Point outpost of that owl-themed franchise known for chicken wings and such.

It's been raining like crazy around here - April showers and whatnot - and the local flora has responded generously with a resurgence of the area's lush green canopy. What better way to celebrate the rites of spring than with this week's Page Three model, Linda Campbell of Jamestown, captured in an outdoor scene with the trees in full bloom.

Natalia Sadeghi is a girl with priorities. She was enrolled as a student at GTCC when she received news that she had won a contest sponsored by Victoria's Secret on the strength of a video she sent in.

Who says bartenders have the best work stories? Not this week's Page Three model and Winston-Salem native Brittany Stein, who after two years working the sticks says, "I don't have any funny stories." Yeah, like we believe that.

Let's get this out there right away: We love this chick, this Theresa Ortiz who graces this week's Page Three. We love her New Jersey accent and that little Rosie Perez thing she's got going on; we love her lean, feline build and her eyes, the color of black olives; we love that she's relocated to Winston-Salem from the Garden State, and we love that she loves it here.

Get a good look at this week's Page Three model Stephen Kay, 31, an actor, model and musician from Greensboro, because the next time you see him will probably be up on the big screen.

Feast your eyes, friends, on Finchi Brown, the vixenish face of independent High Point band Fynn Chi, which bills itself on its MySpace page as "psychotic blues to replace your pills." Finchi, who is coy as to whether the band is named after her, graces our Page Three because her band will see stage time at Winston-Salem's Elliott's Review on Saturday night at 8 p.m.

If you've never been to Stellarcon, the sci-fi/fantasy/gaming convention held every year in downtown High Point (and also the subject of this week's cover story, page 10), then you probably didn't realize that there are women who look like this prowling around.

Okay, we admit it: We're getting a bit burlesque-heavy here on Page Three. But what the hell... these women have obviously got the goods, and some are difficult to pigeonhole. Take this week's specimen, for example, 22-year-old Kristen Snider, a senior at Salem College who plans to matriculate in the fall with a degree in business and marketing.

We get all kinds here on Page Three - artists, bartenders, dancers, careerists, students - but we very seldom get a woman or man of destiny. Kelly Smith is one of those.

"Is it bad that I look like a cupcake?" asks this week's Page Three model, Tyne Hedrick, as we head out the door from our Trade Street digs.

Nikki Kennedy, the 19-year-old from Thomasville gracing Page Three this week, has a voice that pours like molasses over a homemade biscuit, something that comes in handy in her capacity as a salesperson for a wireless phone company.
