Greensboro police found 20-year old Trevor Todd suffering from a gunshot wound on April 23 at approximately 3 a.m. Todd died at Moses Cone hospital from his wounds. Police are looking for a older model white Crown Victoria with dark tinted windows and rims as well as very bright or bluetinted headlights.

Winston-Salem police reported an armed robbery at the Waughtown Street Dollar General Store on Sunday. According to the report, the suspect loitered in the store until the other customers exited before making his move. He then approached the clerk with a semi-automatic pistol and demanded money.

An unidentified man answered a knock at the door of his apartment on McKnight Mill Road in Greensboro at 11:22 p.m. on Sunday. Two black men tried to force their way into the apartment at gunpoint, he said. The man pushed against the door, trying to close it.

When Winston-Salem police Chief Scott Cunningham tried to pull over Jemmond Hammond, who was in a stolen 1997 Honda Accord, on the morning of April 1, Hammond tried to make a getaway.

Greensboro police officers received a rude awakening during a surveillance operation when their vehicle was struck with BB gun pellets on March 21. The suspects were a group of juveniles out riding bikes through the area. Two of them were arrested and charged with assault, vandalism and resisting an officer.

Winston-Salem police identified the suspect of a hit and run that left a man dead along US Highway 421 near Peace Haven Road. Charges were filed against Kaitlin Smith Slater, 24, for the vehicular murder of Trevor Spencer Prough on Mar. 4. Slaters bond is set at $125, 000 and her first court appearance is Mar.

An armed suspect entered the Pop Shoppe in Kernersville and demanded money at about 2 a.m. on Feb. 16. Four days later at 12:32 a.m., someone entered the Fast Track in Kernersville, displayed a gun and demanded money.

Greensboro police raided apartments off Cedar Fork Drive during the morning hours of Feb. 17 after receiving information that an illegal liquor house was being operated. The vice/ narcotics squad seized over 100 bottles of liquor and cases of beer along with other contraband.

Abel Luis Quiroz, 16, was arrested on Feb. 10 after he allegedly shot a middle school bus driving past his house with a pellet pistol that morning. Further police investigation found that another Winston- Salem school bus also had a window shot out with a pellet pistol, but no injuries were reported in either incident.

In the early morning hours of Feb. 5, Greensboro police responded to a call at 1802 Maplewood Lane, Apt. D, where they found a man dead from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as John Christopher Shaw Hewett.

Someone moving into an apartment on West Market Street received a little unsolicited assistance. On Jan. 25, the victim left their vehicle unattended and upon return noticed that some items were missing. Police apprehended 20-year old Keiston Foskey, who they said is currently on probation for a similar crime.

A Winston-Salem man is facing charges after allegedly pointing a gun at a man while driving on US Highway 52. On Jan. 2, Mark Anthony Callahan, 48, was stopped in his red Chevrolet pick-up and taken into custody for assault. A .357 caliber revolver handgun was seized from the vehicle.

On Jan. 10, Four to six men forced their way into the home of Donald Bennett while he was watching television friends and robbed the victims at gunpoint. A struggle ensued and several shots were fired from inside the residence though no one was injured.

Winston-Salem police conducted a preliminary investigation into allegations of misconduct by a teacher at Thomas Jefferson Middle School on Jan. 2. Mark Tobin Mercer, 23, was eventually identified as the suspect. An undisclosed number of girls were interviewed in the investigation, and Mercer was taken into custody.

While exiting the Big Boys BP station in the 5400 block of West Market Street on Monday night, the station's owner was robbed of her bank deposit bag. Greensboro police officers responded to the scene and managed to capture the suspect, who was charged with robbery and possession of crack cocaine.

Police arrested Nyenetu Ndorbor Morlu, 26, at about 11:30 a.m. on Monday and charged him with second-degree murder in the shooting death of Belton Jones, 22. At the time of his arrest, Morlu was in Forsyth County jail on a weapons charge. Jones received a gunshot wound on Dec.

Belton Javon Jones, 22, of Winston- Salem, died at Baptist Hospital on Monday as a result of a gunshot wound inflicted in the parking lot of an apartment complex on East Hanes Mill Road at about 4 a.m. on Dec. 17. The decapitated body of Maria Magdalena Rodriguez, 31 of Winston-Salem was found at about 1 a.m. on Sunday in a field near Williamsburg Road. The next day police arrested and charged her husband, 35-year-old Juan Carlos Rodriguez, with 1 st -degree murder in connection with his wifes death.
