Jordan, Thanks for your informative article on the important Morton/Richardson/Mountains to Sea Trail project ["Undeveloped Guilford tracts could be used for trails"; Nov. 26, 2008; by Jordan Green]. It is rare to have all the stars aligned when this many players are involved.

Coble has voted with the Bush Administrations failed policies nearly 75 percent of the time, and his so-called criticism of the Iraq war has been only in word and not in deed. Yes, he is an affable old gent, but he has served in Congress longer than I have been alive, and it is clearly time for a change.

I will keep this short and sweet. When you have an elected official as honest, as hard working and as dedicated to the job as Congressman Howard Coble, why would you even consider voting for someone else? Howard Coble is a man of integrity and intelligence.

How about periodically tossing in a piece by Randall Tex Cobb. He was in a couple of those [Chuck] Norris vehicles and seems to have shared much of the same wildly mis-informed philosophy. You remember they were invariably running around Laos on some Ross Perot-inspired manhunt for phantom POWs.

I am responding to Alexander Cockburn’s outrageous defense of Sarah Palin [“At least two cheers for Sarah Palin”; Sept. 10, 2008]. With her in charge, I can see very bad things happening to America. For starters, John McCain might decide to go into Iran and then he might die three months later.

I and residents of the Meadow Oaks community thank you for a doing a great article on our issues with developer, Scott Wallace [“Greensboro council overturns apartment decision”; July 23, 2008; by Jordan Green]. We knew he had given campaign contributions to some of the city council members, but not all the ones that you listed.

Chuck Norris’ column on America’s founding creationists [“America’s founding creationists”; July 16, 2008] appears to have kind of neglected the flip side of our founding fathers’ thoughts. Our history as expressed by many of our founders was one of staunch secularism.
