TODAY IS THE SECOND DAY OF MERLEFEST, WHICH WAS FOUNDED IN 1988 IN MEMORY OF EDDY MERLE WATSON AS A FUNDRAISER FOR WILKES COMMUNITY COLLEGE AND TO CELEBRATE “TRADITIONAL PLUS” MUSIC. Main St., Winston-Salem; 336.770.3399; www.uncsa.edu; 7 p.m.; FREE Dialogues is a series of conversations with visiting artists at UNCSA. Dance Dialogues features Ethan Stiefel, dean of the School of Dance and principal dancer with the American Ballet Theatre, and Johan Kobborg, principal dancer with the Royal Ballet. They will provide insight into the creative process of dance and choreography. This event is free and open to the public.

One Good Reason is a rock band that explores a wide variety of musical styles that range from Oldies to Today. They specialize in playing great cover tunes that you know and love, but also concentrate on writing and recording originals. And as always Bender’s will be offering great drink specials.

Lisapalooza benefi ts Lisa Amani, breast cancer survivor and owner of Shankari Yoga, Inc. Performing bands include the Radials, Allman Extract, Aiede with Chronis, Mark & Keith of the Mantras, Braco, the CC3 and the Brand New Life. Raffle tickets will be available for $5. Play to win prizes and help support the cause! There will be a kids’ area equipped with a bounce house/moonwalk. Grilled food, henna tattoos, a balancing act and massages will also be part of the event. It lasts until 10 p.m.

A PROPHET a/perture cinema; 311 W. 4th St., Winston-Salem; 336.722.8148; www.aperturecinema.com; 7:30 p.m.; $8.50 One of a/perture cinema’s newest releases is A Prophet. It’s a movie of a 19-year-old boy, Malik El Djebena, who is an illiterate part Arab, part Corsican. He’s just been condemned to six years in prison and appears younger and more fragile than the other convicts. As he’s cornered by the leader of the Corsican gang who currently rules the prison, he is given a number of “missions” to carry out that toughen him up and gain the gang leader’s confi dence in the process. Malik is a fast learner and rises up the prison ranks, all the while secretly devising his own plans. Tickets are available online or at the theater one hour prior to show time.

GONE WITH THE WIND Carolina Theatre; 310 S. Greene St., Greensboro;336.333.2605; www.carolinatheatre.com; 7:30 p.m.; $5 A historical romance set in northern Georgia during the drama of the Civil War and Reconstruction years, Gone with the Wind traces the life of Scarlett O’Hara and her relationships with Rhett Butler, Ashley and Melanie Wilkes while addressing such themes as survival, romantic love, and the societal structuring of gender and class. Tickets are available online or at the Carolina Theatre box office.

Wine Down Wednesdays will be held every Wednesday from now through September but you won’t want to miss this year’s kickoff Cinco de Mayo celebration!
