Real name: Alex Jaro

DJ Handle: DJ Jaro, one half of Prime Directive

Origin: Jaro is my last name, but Prime Directive was to show that we played electronic music only after we noticed that a lot of DJs were spinning multiple genres, as well as Top 40.

What I play: Lots of breaks and breakbeats, electronica, trance

Got in the game: We’ve been spinning electronic music since 2005.

Why I do it: We began DJing out of an intense love for electronic music. We practically eat, sleep and breathe it.

Influences: DJ Icey is probally my biggest influence as well as 30Hz, Agent K , DJ Infiniti, Deekline and Alex Metric

First pro gig: We played our first gig at Chumley’s in Greensboro on Battleground Ave. in 2006

Studio work: Directive:Breaks will be out soon.

Favorite technique: We are huge fans of mixer effects, so you’ll hear a lot of echo and filter during our live performances.

Signature mix: The one that were finishing now. It’s called Directive:Breaks.

Personal playlist: We’re so addicted to electronic music that we find little time to listen to anything else.
