DJ Handle: DJ SkiZzie FuZz
Why I chose it: I got this name when I was in high school. All I had on my chinny-chin-chin was
a little peach fuzz so when I began to DJ, everyone picked on me and called me skizzie fuzz.
Real name: Joey McDonald
What I play: Everything, I mean everything, from gospel to rap, from country to pop, from hip
hop to techno, from Taylor swift to Gucci Mane.
Catch me at: I’m seriously all over the Triad performing everywhere. Facebook and Twitter
is the best way to get a handle on where I’ll be at any given time. I must say I had a blast last
week DJing for my alma mater NC A&T. Let’s go Aggies Against Aids.
Upcoming shows: Groove Phi Groove SFI, MEAC Celebration Day party at Club Platinum in
Winston-Salem on Friday, March 12 at 1 p.m.; High Point Bridal Expo 2010 Ashford Suites 3901
Sedgebrook St. High Point on Saturday, March 13 at 1 p.m.; Groove Phi Groove SFI Non-Greek
“Leave It on the Yard” Stroll competition at Shaw University in Raleigh on March 18 at 4 p.m.
Got in the game: I was always that hyper-impulsive kid who loved to bang on pots and
pants. Most of the time I ended up breaking something. As I got older, I started experimenting
with everything that made a sound until my dad introduced me to my first turntable. It wasn’t
until I stepped foot in A&T’s radio station (WNAA 90.1) that I became serious as a DJ.
Why I do it: I do this because its really fun and it’s a great way to meet all kinds of people and
organizations. It makes me happy when I see the funny pictures on Facebook of people just
having a blast, plus it makes me laugh when I see the morning after pictures, most of the time
someone usually has a lampshade on their head….
Influences: D Cherie, Q-bert DJ Red-October, DJ Pyro, DK K Stunna, DJ Rockin’ Rick, Will.i.am,
Professor Funk, Kanye West and Kid n’ Play from House Party.
Studio work: Well, I don’t want to give it away, but we are currently working with Calico Beatz
to produce an underground mix-tape. But it’s a secret, so keep it hush-hush.
Signature mix: I have a couple of gospel rap mixes that always get people dancing with a
hint of holy ghost. I have a club/pop mix, I love the Black Eyed Peas part of it. I have a 20-minute
scratch session, I had to buy new vinyl after I made that one.
Personal playlist: Right now, I’m all over Black Eyed Peas’ “Imma Bee,” Nicki Minaj’s “Girlfriend,”
SA-RA’s “Love Czars”, NERD’s “Everyone Knows,” Ke$ha’s “Tik Tok” Snoop Dogg’s “I Wanna Rock
and “Gucci Lemonade.”
My Gear: I’m rocking with two Stanton T80s, Serato Scratch Live, Hercules RMX, Compaq
Presario Laptop

I’d like to add: Anyone can play a song or two and get ya dancing, but it takes a DJ to
inspire the party animals in all of us. That way we can wake up the next morning and find
a tiger in the bathroom. Catch me on Facebook or Twitter all the time. Just type in Fuzzy
Productions on either site.
