Princess Howell Dancer, business owner

We are impressed with Princess Howell, not only because of her iridescent smile and fine form, not just because she’s a Greensboro girl born and raised and not just because her name is quite possibly what Thurston Howell III and his wife Lovey from “Gilligan’s Island” would have given their own fictitious child. No, we are impressed because she graduated UNCG in 2007 with a dual major in small-business management and dance, and then went on to open her own dance studio, making her one of a select few we know of who knew exactly what she wanted to do, set out to do it and accomplished her goals. The studio, Royal Expressions (www.royalexpressions.org), she says, offers classes for kids and adults and has been in business since June 1 of this year. And she hopes to attain 501(c)3 status before the year is out. With a ballerina ‘s discipline, she’s waiting tables at Rock-Ola to raise the necessary $500 to file.
