Strategy session

Nick DiVitci (left) outlines a strategy to elect Joel Landau to the District 4 seat on Greensboro City Council by obtaining permission to place signs in homeowners’ yards, getting volunteers to display the candidate’s bumper stickers on their cars and setting up meet-the-candidate meetings at supporters’ homes.

The meeting took place at DiVitci’s house in the Hamilton Forest neighborhood on Aug. 5. DiVitci, a progressive Democrat, also managed Democrat John Parks’ recent campaign for Guilford County Commission. Landau, who has made two unsuccessful bids for city council, faces Mary Rakestraw, a Republican who was instrumental in the removal of City Manager Mitchell Johnson, in the District 4 race. Joseph Rahenkamp and Mike Martin are also running for the seat. (photo by Jordan Green)
