Been a DJ for: 6.5 years
Got in the biz: “I did an internship with the ‘Murphy in the Morning’ show the summer before my senior year of college and I was hired a few months later. After five years of being on the morning show, I moved on to my own show.”
Favorite bands: the Beastie Boys, Tom Petty, Alanis Morisette, John Mayer, Salt N Pepa!
Bad studio habits: “Stuffing food in my mouth 30 seconds before going on the air Hey, funny story…. When I was on the morning show, I sat with my back to the studio door. When you have headphones on, you can’t hear anything going on around you, so I didn’t hear when the door opened. I felt something on my shoulder, turned around, and there was a freakin’ snake on me! Jack Murphy had invited TEAR [Triad Exotic Animal Rescue] to come in and didn’t tell me and they decided to surprise me with a giant snake. I may have cried a little.
