local talent

Matt Weiser —  Lead singer, guitarist

Clemmons native Matt Weiser first picked up a guitar when he was eight and started playing music with friends when he hit his teens. After a bout as a solo singer/songwriter touring through North Carolina and Virginia, Weiser teamed up with brothers Brett and Christian Ryan to form GOryanGO. Taking its name from a vanity license plate one brother received as a present, the trio finished their first EP last month, “Driving Out the Silence,” after first getting together in 2007. GOryanGO didn’t set out to be a Christian rock band but Weiser is active in his church and religion is one of their primary influences. He compared their sound to Switchfoot, Lifehouse and the Goo Goo Dolls. Now living in Winston-Salem, Weiser teaches guitar lessons and is an avid runner.

Find GOryanGO’s EP on iTunes and Amazon, or visit goryangomusic.com.
