SUSPECT RETURNS TO SCENE OF THE CRIME Winston-Salem police arrested Dexter Lee McKoy, 33, on Jan. 4 and charged him with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon in connection with two separate robberies of the Tienda Juan Diego store, located in the 500 block of Peters Creek Parkway. On Dec. 21, 2011, McKoy allegedly entered the store brandishing a semi-automatic pistol and demanded money from the clerk. He subsequently fled the business on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. During their investigation, Winston-Salem Police detectives discovered surveillance footage from a Dec. 1, 2010 armed robbery of the Tienda Juan Diego and determined McKoy was the man who committed both crimes. McKoy is currently in the Forsyth County Jail under $150,000 bond.
SHOOTING ON SAVANNAH STREET Greensboro police responded to a shooting call in the 500 block of Savannah Street around 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 6. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, Marcus McLellan, who was shot in his lower extremities. McLellan informed police that while walking down the street he was approached by an unknown person or persons who shot him. McLellan was transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. FOILED BATHROOM ROBBERY AT MCDONALD’S Greensboro police arrested William Miller and Ronnie Majors for attempted felony larceny from person after receiving a robbery call from the McDonald’s restaurant in the 2300 block of Randleman Road on the evening of Jan. 9. Around 9 p.m., officers arrived at the restaurant and spoke with the victim, Davis Wright, who told police that two black males approached him in the bathroom and attempted to take his wallet. Wright left the restaurant and called 911. Wright returned to the McDonald’s with police officers and identified Miller and Majors. Police also charged Miller with resisting arrest.
