VICTIM SHOT DURING ROBBERY
Greensboro police responded to a call of a gunshot victim around 11 p.m. on Sept. 10 at Moses Cone hospital. Upon the officers’ arrival, the victim informed them that three black males entered his apartment in the 1400 block of Perkins Street on that night and demanded his property. When the victim refused, one of the suspects — described as a clean-shaven black male, 18-25 years old, and 5 foot-7 in height — shot him and fled on foot with the other suspects without taking any property. SHOPLIFTING AT AMERICAN GROCERY
Greensboro police responded to an armed robbery call around 6 p.m. on Sept. 10 at American Grocery Store in the 800 block of Merritt Drive. Upon arrival, officers were informed by the store owner that a black male, 5-8 in height, weighing 130-150 pounds entered the store wearing a black baseball hat with a red bill, black T-shirt, black shorts and white tennis shoes, brandished a handgun and stole an unknown amount of money. The suspect fled in a gray or silver car with a possible license plate number: ABL-5402. The vehicle was last seen traveling northwest on Merritt, before turning north on Watkins and then northwest on Clifton Road. No injuries were reported.
ROBBER RUNS OUT OF GAS
Winston-Salem police arrested Moses Bernard Gist after responding to an armed robbery call at Huff Shell in the 100 block of South Broad Street on the morning of Sept. 10. Gas station employees told police officers that a black male entered the business, indicated he had a weapon and took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. The suspect allegedly fled the scene in a gray Dodge Durango. A short while later, police responded to a stranded motorist call on US 421 South. Officers discovered that the vehicle and the driver matched the description of the suspect in the armed robber and placed Gist under arrest. Gist was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and placed in custody at the Forsyth County jail.
