During her career in finance, Toni Goins had seen everything: credit cards, banking, mortgages, investments, insurance. And through it all she noticed a glaring need for a certain kind of business. “I found the need for women to learn how to invest and make smart choices with their money and the resources they have,” she says. “A lot of women, I found, hadn’t started investing or were behind the curve.” So she founded Rich Girl Consulting (www.richgirlconsulting.com) in order to fill this niche. “I work with professionals, working mothers, retirees, divorcees,” she says. “We start with emergency funds, college savings, insurance and then move on to investing. For some clients we help with career planning, whether it involves job changes or going back to school to enhance their skills. It’s really helping women become financially independent.”
