It’s Back!

In honor of Pop the cap, which forever changed the beer scene in North carolina five years ago by legalizing high-gravity beer, Foothills Brewing and sam’s Quik shop will celebrate with the simultaneous release of a very special brew. on Friday at 4 p.m., Foothills will bring back Baltic Porter for sale in 22-ounce bottles. more than 700 bottles are for sale at Foothills on Friday; sales resume on saturday at 11 a.m. with all remaining bottles. There will be a limit of six bottles on Friday; the limit for saturday is yet to be determined. Bottles are $15 each.

As with previous bottle releases, the Baltic Porter will be available on draft at the same time. Also being released on draft the same day is fall seasonal oktoberfest, a German style mrzen. At this time there are no plans to offer the oktoberfest in bottles.

The Baltic Porter won a gold medal at the 2006 Great American Beer Festival during its initial release and a silver medal the following year. House Bill 392 passed to make high-gravity beers like the Baltic Porter legal on Aug. 13, 2005.
