Be afraid. Be very afraid. The Woods of Terror isn't your ordinary, scream-filled haunted attraction. It's 20 acres of rural woodlands transformed into one of the most intense, horrifying haunts you'll ever see in the Southeast this Sept 26-Nov 1. Think you can handle the scare? For 17 years, the Woods of Terror has been spooking thousands of young and old visitors alike. The Greensboro, N.C. attraction is expected to see 15,000 visitors this year and has been selected as one of America's Best Haunts by industry experts. Highlights include free-roaming zombies and monsters, a graveyard, and scenes from some of Hollywood's scariest movies such as SAW, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Hellraiser, The Ring, The Mist, Nightmare on Elm Street and, of course, Halloween. This year features even more spooky goodness. New attractions including the Virus (complete with a bio-hazard area) Blackbeard's Revenge haunted pirate ship and  Extreme, the only 3D attraction of its kind in North Carolina. Past crowd pleasers such as The Redneck Hayride and Heavy Metal Nightmare are also back. Woods of Terror visitors experience vivid scenes through the use of movie-quality sets, special effects makeup, high tech props and lighting. More than 75 actors help transform the rural countryside into a frightening haunted trail worthy of any Hollywood movie set.
