Piedmont Jazz Alliance is proud to announce the kick-off of the Fall Jazz series with a wonderful evening of jazz by the Baron Tymas Quartet. Guitarist, composer and North Carolina Central University music professor Baron Tymas is in great demand throughout the region, and his quartet featuring saxophonist James "Saxsmo" Gates, pianist Gary Brunotte and drummer Aaron Tuckersome are among the state’s best jazz musicians. The Baron Tymas Quartet will entertain and delight the audience with the music from his current recoding “Insight at Midnight,” which draws inspiration from bebop, blues, funk, Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, reggae and west African trailblazers. The event will be held at Dan Thai Jazz Bistro which is becoming “THE” place for jazz in High Point.
