The UNCG School of Music and UNCG Theatre present a world premiere opera event, PICNIC, composed by Libby Larsen, based on the Pulitzer Prize winning play by William Inge. Set to a pulsing and poignant Jazz Music score, PICNIC is a touching portrait of small town America in the 1950's. This town is changed forever when a young, sexy drifter comes to town and steals the heart of "good girl" Madge. Performed in Aycock Auditorium on the campus of UNCG at 7:30 pm on April 2 & 3; 2:00 pm on April 5, 2009. Tickets are $15 for adults; $12 for seniors, students, children; $9 for groups of 10 or more and UNCG Alumni; and $7 for UNCG students.
