Leisha Trivette Adams, 27, was walking in the street on Carver School Road in Winston-Salem at about 4 a.m. on Sunday morning when she was struck by a pickup truck. The driver left the scene of the accident. Adams was taken to Baptist Hospital, where she died.

At least two of the men reportedly had handguns. Police said intruders assaulted the family and obtained cash, an empty gas can and two cell phones. The family was able to untie themselves and call for help. They reportedly received minor injuries, but refused medical treatment.

Greensboro police have arrested Reginald B. Douglas, 41, on charges of secret peeping, first-degree burglary, five counts of assault on a government official and resisting, delaying and obstructing justice. Police caught Douglas while he was attempting to break into a home occupied by two girls and a toddler at 1:45 a.

In the early morning hours of Nov. 19 Ronald Kimber, 21, had his front door on Savannah Street in Greensboro kicked in by approximately four black men all dressed in black. The men reportedly stole a Sony Playstation3, video games and an undisclosed amount of money before running out the rear entrance.

Two black men in their early twenties with slim builds robbed Lamar McKinley Tillery, 20, while he was working on his vehicle in his driveway on Green Point Drive in Greensboro on Nov. 19. The thieves worked in unison with one acting as a lookout while the second robbed Tillery of his wallet, car keys, and vehicle DVD player at gunpoint.

Nicholas Dwayne McKey, 31, reportedly appeared at the Fairway One Stop on South Broad Street in Winston-Salem at a little before 11 p.m. on Nov. 14 and displayed what is described as a long gun. McKey is said to have demanded money, but instead ended up taking several grocery items from the store and then fleeing on foot.

Winston-Salem police responded to Salem Baptist Church on Broad Street after receiving a call of armed robbery. Upon arrival it was determined that while church personnel were serving dinner in the cafeteria on the evening of Nov. 4, a black man between 18 and 25 wearing an orange or yellow shirt and black ski mask came in with a handgun and robbed them of a money box and its contents.

Greensboro police responded to a report of attempted burglary at 1808 Belcrest Ave. on Sunday after a neighbor said a black woman was seen trying to pry open a window and then breaking it with a brick. When the neighbor approached, the woman fled and was later apprehended at the corner of Florida and Larkin Streets.
