The NC Music Hall of Fame has announced that the following artists will be inducted on Oct. 3: Randy Travis, Ben E. King, Earl Scruggs, James Taylor, George Clinton and Roberta Flack. Several nonliving artists, including Wilbert Harrison, Clyde McPhatter, Kate Smith, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, Max Roach, the Five Royales, Nina Simone and Johnny Bristol, will also be inducted.

The Blind Tiger's schedule shows an Aug. 14 booking for Kudzu Wish and Decoration Ghost. The common denominator between the two bands is bass player Tim LaFollette, who was diagnosed with ALS earlier this year. To the best of my knowledge, this will be the first time Kudzu Wish has played together since their final show before officially breaking up in 2005.
