Melissa Smith

By YES! Weekly staff
It should be known that this is just the second-ever repeat here on Page Three, but you know we were never ones to shy away from controversy. Melissa Smith graced our pages almost four years ago, while paying her dues as a massage therapist at the Grandover Resort. Now she brings news of her business venture, Magnolia Day Spa on Main Street in Jamestown. “It’s in a century-old home,” she says, “so it’s got a comfortable kind of feel. That’s what separates us from some of the other [day spas].” The historic home holds spaces for massage, facials, waxing, body work and manicure/pedicure stations. Upstairs a bedroom is converted to a couples’ therapy room, with two canopied massage tables and a faux fireplace. And they don’t do hair. “We don’t have enough space,” she says. “And if we did have more room, we’d probably be a bed and breakfast.”
