Local Talent: Jennie Stencel

By YES! Weekly staff

If you can get this week’s cover girl Jennie Stencel, WXII morning television personality and one-half of the driving force behind Greensboro’s Idiot Box improvisational comedy theater, to sit still for just a moment, you will be rewarded with a picture like this. But usually Jennie’s face is as animated as Saturday morning — grinning, smirking, laughing out loud. Somethings you should know: She hates getting up early, her knowledge of Star Wars lore is formidable and her father-in-law thinks the ’70s television show “Welcome Back Kotter” was about him and his friends (He went to Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn with the show’s star, Gabe Kaplan).

Catch her on weekday mornings as the WXII morning show traffic reporter, or see her on stage at the Idiot Box every weekend at its new location on the corner of Elm and McGee streets in downtown Greensboro.
