Indecent exposures reported in Battleground area

During the weekend of Oct. 10 and 11, three women reported a black male between 40 and 50 years old, approximately 200 pounds and between 5’10” and 6’ exposing himself to them along the Battleground Park and Guilford Military Park trails. One victim reported being grabbed, but not injured in an encounter. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 336.727.2800.

Bojangles robbery on New Walkertown Road

Police responded to a report of armed robbery on Oct. 17 at 10:23 p.m. at Bojangles. Two black males between 18 and 25 years old were determined to have hidden in the bathroom until closing when they approached employees with a handgun and took an undisclosed amount of money. The men fled on foot out the back door once law enforcement arrived. A K-9 track and search of the local area proved negative results. The Greensboro Police Department responded to a reported shooting at 1125 Walnut St. at about 5:15 a.m. on Oct. 15. An investigation determined Charles Haithcock, 80, shot and killed Michael L. Medley Jr., 19, who had broken into Haithcock’s home. No charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing.

Brother charged in murder of sister

Connell Ferrell, 42, has been charged with first-degree homi- cide of Mary Ferrell Jones, 55, at her residence. The incident occurred in the late evening hours of Oct. 10 or early morning hours of Oct. 11 at 317 Apartment A on East Florida Street with the autop- sy indicating the cause of death to be a stab wound in an undisclosed location. Specifics relating to motive are under investigation.

Man robbed of van, Air Force Ones

Bassirou Garba, 33, reported to the Greensboro Police Department he was robbed at gunpoint by a black man at 4139 Spring Garden St. about 3:50 p.m. on Oct. 15. Garba, who sells Air Force Ones tennis shoes and T-shirts out of a white 2000 Chevrolet Express van, says he met an unidentified man behind the Church’s Chicken on Spring Garden Street to conduct business when the suspect brandished a gun and took the vehicle and mer- chandise.
