It is, according to their website, a “new media experiment with a dedicated staff of videographers, audio-engineers, photographers and bloggers whose singular motive is to save the Monkeywhale through the exploitation of integrated communication and the interdisciplinary arts.” This is their first annual festival, opening at Solaris tonight with Now You See Them, Eating the Invaders and Holy Ghost Tent Revival. The festival runs all weekend.

Well, his spirit lives on, for sure, at Elsewhere, the found-object museum and gallery in downtown Greensboro, where the Elsewherians have recently been awarded a grant from the Warhol Foundation. This event celebrates the man and his legacy, with food from Table 16, a Velvet Underground cover band, disco, screen tests and more, culminating in a 10 a.m. brunch the following morning.
