The day begins at 8 a.m. with a light breakfast at Riva’s Trattoria and then moves over to the Carolina Theatre, where DGI will give its report and name the winners of the J Edward Kitchen Leadership Award and the Jim Roach Downtown person of the Year Award, followed by remarks from Eric Henry, of sustainable energy screen-printing company TS Designs.

This one is a classic, set against a wedding gone awry featuring wood nymphs, fairies and sprites. The presentation, which runs at the High Point Theatre through Oct. 4, is a production of the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival, which ably celebrates the works and life of William Shakespeare every year in High Point.

CAROLINA PANTHERS AT DALLAS COWBOYS “Monday Night Football”; ESPN (cable channel 17); 8:30 p.m. EST Come on, Carolina… you guys have got to be kidding us! Get it in gear, fellas. Tonight will be a good opportunity to show a national audience what the Panthers are made of in this prime-time square-off against those smug and smarmy Dallas Cowboys. What do you say we hand America’s Team its second consecutive loss in their fancy- pants new stadium, bringing their cumulative record there to 0-2. Are we all on the same page, here?
