This week’s Page Three model, Shae Mabe, is a natural for our back-to-school issue as she can, or will soon be able to, attest to the power of education in one’s career. She works a full-time job answering customer-service calls for New York/Carolina Express, a freight trucking company, but she moved to Greensboro from Madison, NC about three weeks ago to attend the surgical technologist program at GTCC. “I’ll be working in the operating room beside the surgeon,” she says. On the day of our interview, she began classes at 7:30 a.m., took our phone call around 10:30 a.m., and then headed for the office where she would pull an eight-hour shift. Then, she says, it’s home to take care of her puppy, Belle, a Chihuahua-pomeranian mix. Awwwwww.
