Chasity Childress

Chasity Childress
When Chastity Childress of Greensboro entered the Miss Twin City Cyclones Pageant last month, she knew she had a distinct advantage: experience. “I was a pageant girl,” she admits.

“I’ve been in a few. The last title I won, I was 16 years old and I was Miss NC Tarheel State.” To be named spokesmodel for Winston-Salem’s SPHL hockey team, Childress had to survive just three rounds — interview, evening gown and bikini. “I competed against five girls, and I won,” she says. “Yay!” Though she is unsure as to her duties as Miss Twin City Cyclones — “My reign does not start until this summer,” she says — she has plenty to recommend the pageant lifestyle. “It gives you the ability to talk to people,” she says. “You have to do interviews and talk on stage. If you have a fear of that, you’ll get rid of it in no time.”
