Stage Name: Frenzy
How he got it: “Since I was a little kid, I have had ADHD, so I am constantly moving or jumping around. Hence, the name Frenzy.”
Got in the Game: Four years ago
Playlist: “Depends on the venue and location. I play a lot of Top 40, mainstream stuff, but I am known for my breaks and electro house sets.”
Gigs: the Forum (Charlotte), Alley Cat (Charlotte), Greene Street (Greensboro) and Solas (Raleigh)

Why he does it: “From the time I was 16, I was really in to the electronic music scene. I used to go to parties almost every weekend. I bought Acid 6.0 and started trying to learn how to make the music I was hearing at these events. I actually started trying to produce before I even knew how to DJ. I didn’t really get into that until I saw DJ Mike B play at Fusion in High Point. That’s when I knew what I really wanted to do.”
Influences: “I would have to say DJ Mike B first. I used to play his mix CDs over and over, trying to make the same sounds scratching that he did. Then a couple of years later, I met him and we actually became good friends. Skip A Beat (Supa Skip) is another guy that I would not be where I am without. Teaching me how to work a crowd, track selection, scratching, getting me bookings, you name it, he did it for me. He even hooked me up with his music library when my laptop got stolen. Also my partner and friend DJ Richie Rich and my label boss Huda Hudia. I could go on forever.”
First pro gig: “My first two residencies were at the Blur (thank you Eric and Mark!) and Arizona Pete’s.”
Favorite technique: Scratching.
Personal playlist:” Everything. I listen to anything from 311 and Sublime to Deekline and Keith Mackenzie’s Booty Breaks
