Bilingual trailer park home invasion
Maria Rodriguez, a 37-yearold resident of Village Park Mobile Home Park, told Greensboro police that she was in her kitchen at 1:26 p.m. on the afternoon of Dec. 29 when two black males entered through a door that was propped open. The first man reportedly brandished a knife and demanded money, and the second man reportedly repeated the demand in Spanish. Rodriguez said she told the men she had no money, but one of them searched her home. The two men reportedly found a diaper bag and Rodgriguez’s purse with cash in it, and left in her Chevy Tahoe with the items.

Restaurant robbery
Salvador Perez, manager of La Mexicana restaurant on South Holden Road in Greensboro, told police that three men armed with handguns and a shotgun entered the business, where they forced employees to the floor and demanded money. Two of the men are described as Hispanics, while one of them is of an unknown race, and all three are said to have worn black rags across their faces. Masked invaders
A man complained to police that unknown masked persons entered his home at 509 Mystic Drive in Greensboro by force and threatened to hurt him on Jan. 2. The man said he was handcuffed and duct tape was placed over his mouth. The suspects, whom the victim could not describe, reportedly took computer equipment, a flat-screen television and a black 2004 Chevy Navigator with 2-inch chrome rims and a “custom grille.” Police ask that anyone with information on this crime call CrimeStoppers at 336.373.1000.
Drunken driver hits pedestrian
Greensboro police found 23-year-old Albert Salazar lying in the roadway at the intersection of North Church Street and Pisgah Church Road in Greensboro at 6:30 pm. on Jan. 2 while responding to a reported motor vehicle-pedestrian collision. Salazar was taken to Moses Cone hospital with life-threatening injuries, and the driver had fled the scene. Police soon located 32-yearold Angela Marie Hill at nearby 1373 Lees Chapel Road after she disabled her vehicle in another collision. Dead giveaway
Yousif Elnour Elimam, a 25-year-old driver for Fox Pizza, was delivering a pizza to an apartment at the Claremont Court public housing project at 1:15 a.m. on the morning of Jan. 3 when two suspects armed with guns and a third with a stick allegedly robbed him. Greensboro police officers drove to another address in the housing project whose address the suspects initially gave when calling in the order. There they found 19-year-old Stephon Raheem Matthews, 18-year-old Shequana Tiera Shaw and a juvenile, along with the stolen property and the handguns used in the robbery. All three were charged.
Convenience store robbery
A black male around the age of 16 entered Idol’s Food Mart on Clemmonsville Road in Winston-Salem at 2:42 p.m. on Jan. 3, pointed a silver handgun at owner Christopher Carper, and demanded money, police said. Police continue to investigate the case, in which the unidentified suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash. Zachary
Korn, 19, was reportedly walking along the 200 block of South Elm
Street at about 6 p.m. on Jan. 3 when he was stopped by two persons,
who grabbed him violently by the shoulders, pulled him close and
demanded his money, police said. Greensboro police used a K-9 unit to
locate both suspects several blocks north on Elm Street with their dog,
but only one was charged. Bobby Lee Pinkleston was transported to
magistrate’s office and charged with common law robbery.
While
there, he reportedly spat at the magistrate, which brought the
additional charges of malicious conduct by prisoner and contempt of
court. The magistrate has reportedly incarcerated Pinkleston for 29
days in the Guilford County Jail.
Gas-station shooting
Kalub
Shipman, 21, was getting ready to gas up his vehicle at the Shell Gas
Station on Summit Avenue at 9:26 on Jan. 3 when an Asian male
reportedly walked up to him, pulled out a gun and shot him as he
attempted to run. Greensboro police said that Shipman was shot in the
upper thigh area and transported to the hospital.

Tienda robbery
Three men entered Rio Grande Tienda on Akron Drive in Winston-Salem and pointed handguns at clerk Bertah Fuentes and patrons Leonardo Hernandez and Noel Morales, police said. The three suspects, who are described as Hispanic men in their twenties, reportedly took money from the store, forced victims to give up their wallets and jewelry, and left in a silver Honda Civic driven by a fourth suspect. Western Guilford teacher charged with indecent liberties
Greensboro
police announced that Karl Wells, an assistant teacher and assistant
women’s basketball coach at Western Guilford High School, has been
charged with indecent liberties with a student.
Wells reportedly
turned himself in and was released on a written promise to appear. The
alleged incident that gave rise to the charge is said to have taken
