Every September, The St. Charles Parish Rotary Club hosts it's annual Alligator Festival. The festival celebrates the animal for which the swamps of Louisiana have become famous. The festival is held on the last full weekend of September and draws visitors from virtually all over the world. At this festival, you can sample fried alligator, alligator sauce piquante, alligator balls, alligator burgers, alligator meat pies, jambalaya, and many other cajun delicacies. The festival is the Rotary Club's main fundraiser and helps us fund college scholarships for local youth.
